Tinnitus is a condition where the patient hears sounds like ringing noise, or water flowing, which is the perception of sound which is not related to the external noise or sounds so it’s subjective.


Problem Explained

Tinnitus itself is not a disease, but it’s a common symptom associated with the perception of sound or sounds, either intermittent or continuous in one or both ears. Its pitch can go from a low roar to a high squeal or it can have many sounds.

It’s been estimated that Over 35 to 45 million people have experienced tinnitus or head noises, Among them, one in five people with tinnitus have bothersome tinnitus, which distresses them and negatively affects their quality of life and functional health status.  People with persistent and bothersome tinnitus will often seek medical care. Persistent tinnitus is that lasts more than six months. 

Prior to any treatment, it is important to undergo a thorough examination and evaluation by your otolaryngologist (ENT doctor) and audiologist, to assess the extent of problem.
